Art is an amazing thing when you actually think about it. It has no real purpose to exist. It is simply created to beautify and cause thought provoking emotions. Not all art can do this of course and it is subjective. Art truly is in the eye of the beholder. You may love to gander at Rembrandt but despise a Kandinsky. But this is what makes art so special, there is something for everyone if they would just take the time to stop and smell the roses. Art can be very realistic or surrealistic. It can go from cartoon in appearance to abstract. There are no ends to the imagination of where art can take someone just there own preconsceptions and predjudices.
